Our Program
Children are like little scientists, they want to learn how things work, and they learn best through play. Children at play are solving problems, creating, experimenting, thinking and learning all the time. That is why we believe that play supports a child’s cognitive development. We have designed activities throughout the day, which encourages play and assist in the learning and development of the children. For example, we organize circle time on a daily basis, where we engage the children to practice skills such as colour and shape recognition, counting and letter recognition. Each circle is tailored to the children and age group, so that we can focus on the skills the children are interested in learning. All learning is combined with fun activities, songs and games so learning becomes fun.
Social:
We believe that the development of social and emotional skills is one of the most important skill that your child would learn in our program. The ability to interact and engage with others is priceless. We have designed the classrooms and play areas to encourage children to interact with each other and share the space. Furthermore, we have planned group activities throughout the day, where children are encouraged to share toys, materials, and experiences.
Gross Motor:
Gross motor skills are involved in the movement and coordination of the arms, legs, and other large body parts and movements. They participate in actions such as walking, running, crawling, sitting etc. We develop these skills through daily outdoor play. Our playground is a child’s paradise, equipped with a slide, toys, balls, bicycles and even a full sandbox. Aside from free time, we also organize games and bring out attritional materials such as sensory bins, parachutes, bowling pins, skipping ropes etc. as the children’s interest and weather dictate.
Fine Motor:
Fine motor skills are involved in smaller movements that occur in the wrists, hands, fingers, and the feet and toes. We believe the best way to develop these skills are by providing children with various types of materials and tools. We have items like scissors, crayons, pencils and markers available in the art area at all times. We have different sized blocks, cars, puzzles and books spread out in the room. We often put out finger puppets, lacing, beading, different tongs and tweezers, and small manipulative for children to explore.
