Thank you for your interest in Little Champs Academy of Learning.

Our mission is to develop a safe and caring environment where children are encouraged to explore, create and grow.

We offer full day programs for toddler and preschool children aged 18 months to 5 years old. We provide high-quality care and education that is built on a foundation of safety, care and trust. Children work and play together in an atmosphere that promotes co-operation, celebrates differences and accepts similarities. We believe that children learn through hands on experience and participation, therefore, we provide opportunities for children to select, explore, and practice various skills through a variety of materials and prepared activities. We believe in the development of the whole child; social, emotional, creative and cognitive selves. We encourage independence and tolerance, responsibility and respect for others. We focus on social skills, early literacy skills, listening, expressing ideas as well as gross and fine motor skills.

We want our parents to have peace of mind that their children are left in a safe and caring environment.

Government Subsidy for Child Care Costs

We are happy to announce that Little Champs has a service agreement with the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, which allows us to provide care to families using the Child Care Subsidy program offered by the government.

The Child Care Subsidy program can help you pay for child care for children up to age 12 at licensed, recreation or Extended Day programs in the community. To apply for fee subsidy, you must be the parent or legal guardian, live in Waterloo Region and file a Federal Tax Return (in accordance with Revenue Canada Guidelines).  Your net income and the reason you are applying is used to determine if you are eligible for any financial assistance.

Information for parents and guardians can be found at http://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/servicesForYou/ChildCareSubsidy.asp

Our staff will be happy to guide you through the subsidy process and will endeavour to answer your questions.

Raising the Bar

We are proud to announce that Little Champs Academy of Learning is an active participant in the Waterloo Region Raising the Bar Quality initiative: a community standards program for licensed child care centers. This is a voluntary, peer-driven, annual community accreditation program designed to promote healthy child care environments for children and support the professional development of Early Childhood Educators.

The program supports the development and use of practices that enhance the quality of licensed early learning and child care programs. It is a collaborative model that contributes to a spirit of shared successes instead of competition. This initiative has been very successful in engaging the ELCC community in working together to increase the quality of care for all children.

Please inquire with our staff for more information about the Raising the Bar program.

College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)

The College of Early Childhood Educators is the professional self-regulatory body for registered early childhood educators (“RECEs”) in Ontario. The College’s role is to protect the public interest by setting requirements for registration to practise as an RECE, setting ethical and professional standards and holding RECEs accountable for their practice. RECEs are trained in child development and the planning and delivery of play-based learning and care programs. RECEs must renew their membership with the College on an annual basis.
